Makuhari Messe is gearing up for the largest Tokyo Game Show in history. Marking its landmark 30th anniversary, Tokyo Game Show 2026 (TGS2026) has officially released its final pre-event updates, confirming record-breaking exhibitor numbers, an expanded five-day format, and a packed schedule of stage shows, digital broadcasts, and exclusive on-site attractions.

Running from Thursday, September 17 to Monday, September 21 (National Holiday), TGS2026 spans five consecutive days for the first time ever. With an expected attendance of over 300,000 gaming enthusiasts and industry professionals, here is everything you need to know about the upcoming showcase.

1. Record-Breaking Scale: 1,138 Exhibitors Across 5 Days

Surpassing all previous records, TGS2026 will host 1,138 exhibitors—540 domestic Japanese creators and 598 overseas exhibitors—representing 53 countries and regions.

The event footprint spans across Makuhari Messe Exhibition Halls 1–11, the International Conference Hall, and the newly added TKP Tokyo Bay Makuhari Hall, bringing the total booth footprint to 3,999 booths.

  • Business Days: September 17 (Thu) & September 18 (Fri) | 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Public Days: September 19 (Sat) & September 20 (Sun) | 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Public Day (Holiday): September 21 (Mon) | 9:30 AM – 4:00 PM

(Note: On Public Days, doors may open 30 minutes earlier depending on crowd density.)

  • TGS Creator Lounge Presented by Twitch (Hall 1): A debut dedicated lounge space for creators to rest, network, and stream.
  • Merchandise Sales Area (Halls 9–11): Official game music CDs, hardware, apparel, and collectible goods.

  • Keynote Speech: “30 Years of TGS and Proposals for 2056” (Sept 17, 11:00 JST) – CESA Chairman Haruhiro Tsujimoto and industry leaders reflect on three decades of gaming and map out the next 30 years.
  • Twitch Keynote: Community & Live Content (Sept 17, 13:00 JST) – Twitch CEO Dan Clancy joins Riot Games SVP Whalen Rozelle to discuss the future of live streaming and community interplay.
  • LOLLIPOP CHAINSAW New Project Stage (Sept 19, 9:40 JST) – Debut gameplay footage, world details, guest cosplayers, and a major reveal.

The 4th and final wave of official event ambassadors has been announced, completing the team of 30 creator ambassador groups. New additions include:

  2. Otora – Popular VTuber and arcade culture enthusiast.
  3. Rei7 – NIJISANJI VTuber and gaming gal (“Gyaru”).
