Personally, I couldn’t be more thrilled to be heading back to Japan this September. Every trip to Tokyo is special, but stepping onto the show floor at Makuhari Messe remains one of the absolute highlights. There is simply nothing quite like Tokyo Game Show. From the moment the doors open and thousands of passionate fans flood the halls, the atmosphere becomes something truly unique. It’s a mix of anticipation, discovery, and pure enthusiasm for gaming that few events around the world can replicate.
What I love most about TGS is the contrast. One moment you’re standing in front of a massive publisher booth complete with giant screens, stage shows, and crowds stretching into the aisles. The next, you’re tucked away in the indie section, discovering a hidden gem from a small team that could become the next breakout hit. Every corner of the venue has something worth experiencing, and every year I leave having discovered games I never would have found otherwise. Whether you’re there to chase the biggest announcements or uncover the next cult favourite, Tokyo Game Show always delivers.
Welcome to Part 2 of our ongoing TGS 2026 preview series. Following our first roundup of exhibitors and announcements, this latest instalment shines a spotlight on three more standout showcases that deserve a place on your show floor itinerary.
From chaotic multiplayer mayhem and major publisher presentations to tense social deduction experiences that will test both your friendships and your powers of observation, these newly announced booths offer a glimpse at the incredible variety visitors can expect this year. If you’re already mapping out your route through the convention halls, consider this your next batch of must-see stops.
Let’s dive into the latest announcements and explore three more reasons why Tokyo Game Show 2026 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting editions of the event yet.
Fat Goblins (Koda Games)
Channeling the spirit of 2009 hit Fat Princess, developer Koda Games is bringing its zany 16v16 chaotic warfare title Fat Goblins to TGS ahead of its planned 1.0 Steam launch later this year. The game pairs comedic capture-the-flag castle sieges with strategic base-building, hat-stealing class changes, and the crucial objective of feeding and rescuing chubby royalty.

What to Expect at TGS
- Debuting Necromancer Class: Show floor attendees will get the world’s first hands-on experience with the new Necromancer hero class. Unique to one team at a time, this class alters match strategy by resurrecting fallen goblins to form a playable undead army.
- Full Showcase Demo: The demo features access to all five map layouts, every unlockable item, and dynamic role-switching (Warriors, Mages, Archers) via battlefield hats.
- Developer: Koda Games
- Location: Hall 9, Indie Game Area, Booth EB
- Availability: Playable Sept 17–21 (Business & Public Days)
- Platforms: PC (Steam)

(Japan First Playable Demo)
- Publisher: SHUEISHA GAMES
- Availability: Playable Sept 17–21 (Business & Public Days)
