April was a huge month for Wargaming, with several major updates announced for World of Tanks. With space-themed content, collaborations with The Offspring and Girls und Panzer, and a launch on Steam, World of Tanks players were treated to a month jam-packed with new content.
In addition to launching on Steam late April, World of Tanks also released the newest evolution of the game: World of Tanks Modern Armor. Modern Armor is available on PlayStation 4 and 5 and on Xbox One, Xbox Series S and X and includes modern tank combat.
Collaborations with punk rock band The Offspring and popular anime Girls und Panzer both brought a series of 3D styles, crews, and custom voice lines to the game. Additionally, to celebrate 60 years since man’s first foray into space, players could also earn unique space-themed rewards as part of the ‘To the Stars!’ event.
World of Warships and World of Warships: Legends also both had updates across the month of April. World of Warships players were treated with the inclusion of new German Destroyers to the game while World of Warships: Legends fans experienced a new layer of naval combat with the addition of Aircraft Carriers.
To the Stars! World of Tanks Heads for Space
World of Tanks celebrated 60 years since man’s first foray into space, with the To the Stars! event. Players were able to earn a unique series of rewards, the most prominent being Yuri Gagarin as an available in-game commander. A trailer featuring the event can be seen here.
World of Tanks Marks the Release of The Offspring’s Newest Album
In mid-April, legendary punk rock band, The Offspring, released their first album in almost a decade. To mark this milestone, World of Tanks brought back The Offspring-related content including 3D tank styles and custom voice lines featuring the voices of all band members. World of Tanks Debuts Modern Armor
In late April, Wargaming released the newest evolution of World of Tanks; World of Tanks Modern Armor. Modern Armor features cross-play on PlayStation 4 and 5 and on Xbox One, Xbox Series S and X as well as the first inclusion of modern tank combat, bringing fast-paced gameplay to the forefront. Girls und Panzer returns to World of Tanks
Starting 27 April, a huge collection of Girls und Panzer-themed content landed in World of Tanks. Wargaming’s collaboration with the hit anime franchise brought a brand-new Premium tank, the Anglerfish Team crew, tank customisation items, themed missions and much more to World of Tanks. World of Tanks PC launches on Steam
With the launch of World of Tanks on Steam, players of the regular PC version and Steam users are able to fight side by side in immersive PvP battles. For the first time, Steam players are now able to master hundreds of vehicles, hone their tanking tactics and skills and experience World of Tanks’ unique combat. Gravity Force Returns to World of Tanks Blitz
Gravity Force returned to World of Tanks Blitz in April to commemorate the first great leap in human space exploration. A fan favourite, Gravity force lets players drift into space and battle it out in a whole new dimension. This time, a thruster mechanic was added to the game mode, allowing players to launch themselves with the press of a button. A trailer for the event can be seen here.
German Destroyers hit World of Warships
Update 0.10.3 landed for World of Warships in April, featuring a whole host of new content to sink into. Headlining this update were the brand new German Destroyers as well as the the full release of Italian Battleships. Additional updates included visual enhancements and quality of life improvements to the Commander’s interface, as well as updated Daily Rewards. Full patch notes can be viewed here.
World of Warships: Legends Unleashes Aircraft Carriers
To celebrate two years since World of Warships: Legends entered early access, Wargaming announced a new update for the game, bringing unique content and events. The main focus of the new patch was the permanent addition of aircraft carriers to the game to add a new layer to naval combat. A new campaign titled “Limit Breaker” also launched, with new milestones to achieve and cruisers to unlock. A trailer for the update can be seen here.
