One of the most influential hip-hop groups of all time, Wu-Tang Clan, brought a style revolution to the Fortnite Island in April. Players could purchase a variety of Wu Wear items in the Item Shop, including new Outfits, Back Blings, Pickaxes and more.

Each We Wear item included two Outfits and matching accessories. A ‘Wu-Tang is Forever’ Emote was also available in the Item Shop so players could express their love for Wu-Tang in-game.

To commemorate the collaboration, Wu-Tang also dropped a full capsule of Fortnite x Wu-Tang gear which included physical versions of in-game looks!

Soundwave Series Heads to Brazil

Fortnite Recap Newsletter - April 2022

Following Australian artist Tones and I’s Soundwave Series experience, the series headed to Brazil with rapper Emicida. Emicida’s show aired back-to-back for 72 hours last weekend being hosted in a Soundwave Series: Emicida Creative experience, and available in picture-in-picture across other Creative experiences, Battle Royale and more.

Made by creators BertBuilds, Paradox Builds, and Zen Creative (the New Zealand team who helped build the Lands Down Under Creative experience), Emicida’s interactive experience was inspired by his life’s journey and how it influenced his music.

The setlist, which included some of Emicida’s biggest hits, told the story of how he grew up in Jardim Cachoeira in the north of São Paulo, Brazil, and became one of the most popular rappers in Brazil and a successful artist worldwide.

Japanese pop artist + music producer Gen Hoshino and record-breaking French-Malian singer Aya Nakamura will have their own shows to experience in Fortnite in the future. Keep an eye out for details over the coming months as the Soundwave Series continues and read more about it on the Fortnite blog!
