Media Release:
Australia’s esports team will don EPOS’ green and gold headsets while striving for success at the Commonwealth Esports Championships
EPOS announced today they will be the official gaming audio partner of Australia’s esports teams in the 2022 Australian National Finals for the Commonwealth Esports Championships being held in the Gold Coast from June 4-5, and the finals taking place in Birmingham, England, taking place from August 7-8, 2022 (GMT).
This year’s Commonwealth Games will be the first time esports has been included in the roster of sports, and EPOS will be the main sponsor for the Opens and Women’s teams, who will be battling it out to see who will represent Australia in both the Rocket League and DOTA 2 events in the finals in August.
As the audio partner, EPOS will be the official provider to the Australian Commonwealth Esports Championship teams’ players and staff, offering them the latest in gaming headsets and audio amplifiers for the ultimate competitive advantage.
As well as the technical edge the headsets will provide, they are a patriotic fit thanks to the EPOS H6PRO and H3PRO Hybrid devices coming in ‘green and gold’ colour options, which is a perfect match for the esports teams’ jerseys.
The EPOS H6PRO Closed Acoustic Gaming Headset delivers ultimate performance across the full audio spectrum with maximum accuracy and minimum listening fatigue. The headset offers detail and focus with controlled yet powerful audio performance, which will provide that extra competitive edge to the Australian esports teams’ game.
The EPOS H3PRO Hybrid headset delivers secure lag-free wireless performance for gaming, with additional multiple connection options, providing the athletes a headset that can keep them connected to the world, while travelling the Commonwealth Games’ grounds, on their preferred mobile device.
Established in 1930 and sometimes referred to as the ‘friendly games’, the Commonwealth Games brings together members of the Commonwealth of nations to compete on a level playing field in a spirit of friendship and fair play. The Commonwealth Esports Championships will be the first time esports has been included at the Commonwealth Games, and as with all first-time sports, will be featured as a demonstration event.
Darren Kwan, President of the Australian Esports Association, said: “The inclusion of esports at the Commonwealth Games as a demonstration event has been the culmination of decades of player effort, talent and industry growth. For Australia it is an incredible opportunity to put our talented gamers on the world stage as equal athletes alongside other commonwealth sports. For the players it is an exciting opportunity to represent their country in an unprecedented manner and has a profound impact on their sense of achievement and competitive careers.”
Maja Sand-Grimnitz, Director, Brand Management & Global Gaming Marketing at EPOS said: “We are very happy to partner with and support the Australian esports team that will be taking part in the Commonwealth Game. EPOS’ green and gold headsets are the perfect match for the Aussie team’s kit, and I hope the advantage provided by our best-in-class audio products help the team bring back some more gold from the finals of the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.”
