The PAX Aus News Keeps Coming: The Schedule is Live Now

PAX Aus 2025 Welcomes Gavin Verhey, Magic: The Gathering Principal Designer, as Storytime Speaker

And just like that, the PAX Aus news keeps rolling in.

Today, the full schedule for PAX Australia 2025 went live, and it’s… a lot. Nine theatres. Three days. Dozens of panels, guests, and moments you’ll probably still be talking about next year.

If you’re heading to Melbourne this October, now’s the time to start planning. The official PAX Aus Schedule App is up and running right here, and it’s probably worth downloading sooner rather than later. There’s a lot to take in.

What’s Happening on Friday?

Friday kicks off with Storytime featuring Gavin Verhey, Principal Designer for Magic: The Gathering. That one’s likely to fill up fast. Then there’s a live, audience-driven Elder Scrolls Online session with Game Director Rich Lambert. It sounds chaotic in the best way. The night wraps with Acquisitions Incorporated, Penny Arcade’s long-running D&D show that’s basically a PAX tradition at this point.

Meanwhile, over in the Quokka Theatre, there’s a fireside chat with Rainbow Six Siege Game Director Joshua Mills. There’s also an esports panel hosted by Intel and Back Pocket. That one’s part of PAX Prime Time, with Amelia Tyler and Diana Fae on board. Should be lively.

Saturday’s Looking Stacked

Saturday’s lineup is dense. Amelia Tyler, the BAFTA-nominated narrator from Baldur’s Gate 3, is doing a fireside chat. That alone is worth showing up early. There’s also a panel with folks from Obsidian and Eidos Montréal talking about Grounded 2. It wasn’t really on my radar until now, but I’m curious.

Borderlands 4 gets its spotlight with Randy Pitchford at the Gearbox Main Theatre Show. Expect loud energy and probably a few surprises. And if you’re sticking around late, The Dark Room with John Robertson is back. It’s weird, it’s loud, it’s kind of brilliant.

Quokka Theatre’s got its own gems too. Ify Nwadiwe, comedian, writer, voice actor, is doing a fireside chat. There’s also Sim it and See, a panel celebrating 25 years of The Sims. Cowplants, pool ladders, Simlish… you know the drill.

Sunday Wraps It All Up

Sunday leans into worldbuilding and storytelling. Year of Obsidian with Mikey Dowling, plus a masterclass from Josh Sawyer and Lis Moberly from 20th Century Games. That one feels like a quieter, thoughtful way to close the weekend.

The Cosplay Central Crown Championship returns, and the winner heads to the UK finals. That’s always a highlight. Then there’s the Omegathon Final Round, which is usually unpredictable and kind of emotional, depending on how invested you get.

Quokka Theatre finishes strong too. There’s a VTubing panel presented by Vershion and MSI, and a fireside chat with Luke Dale, star of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and rising Twitch name. That one might surprise people.

So, What Now?

With nine theatres running all weekend, there’s something for everyone. Whether you’re into AAA games, indie devs, cosplay, esports, storytelling, or just wandering the expo hall until your feet give out, it’s all there.

The full program is live now on the PAX Aus 2025 Schedule App, and you can also browse it online here. Take a look. Make a plan. Or don’t. Sometimes the best moments are the ones you stumble into by accident.
