Hey Kin. It’s time. The Leagues of Votann are back—and not quietly. They’re charging onto the galactic stage with a brand-new codex, and it’s not just a stat refresh. This is a full 144-page deep dive into Kin culture, tactics, and lore. Available in both standard and collector’s editions, it’s the kind of release that makes you pause mid-scroll and mutter, okay, I need this.
I didn’t expect to be this excited. But here we are.
What’s Inside the Codex?
There’s a lot. You get 21 datasheets, five new Detachments, and a fresh army rule called Prioritised Efficiency. It’s a clever mechanic—your units earn Yield Points by holding objectives, and you can spend those points for combat bonuses. It’s simple enough to grasp, but adds a layer of tactical depth that makes positioning and timing feel more meaningful.
Beyond the rules, there’s a full suite of Crusade content, painting guides, miniature galleries, and a healthy dose of new lore. The collector’s edition is especially tempting: soft-touch cover, teal foil edges, and exclusive artwork. It’s premium without being overdone.

New Units, New Faces
The codex isn’t just about rules—it’s introducing some standout characters and units that bring fresh personality to the faction.
Buri Aegnirssen
A lone survivor of a Hive Fleet Leviathan attack, Buri is rage incarnate. Scarred, armed with a darkstar glaive called Bane, and capable of returning from the dead once per game on a 2+, he’s a brutal reminder of what the Kin endure. His attack options—either five S12 strikes or ten S6 flurries—make him versatile and unpredictable.

Arkanyst Evaluator
The Science Guild’s latest creation. Experimental weapons with escalating fire modes, and a kit that lets you choose between helmeted or bare-headed mad scientist. Risky, but fun. When it works, it really works.

Memnyr Strategist
An Ironkin tactician with a swirling kognitâar mantle that boosts his computational power. He’s all about positioning and control—granting Overwatch and Heroic Intervention to Steeljacks, and helping manipulate Yield Points. A quiet powerhouse.

Cthonian Earthshakers
Not just shirtless Beserks anymore. These artillery crews bring subterranean firepower with two ordnance options. The kit includes interchangeable crew parts and an Ironkin with ammo-switching capabilities. Plus, a transfer sheet with 555 decals. That’s not a typo.

Ironkin Steeljacks
Tough, precise, and built to hold the line. With a 2+ save and a Preymark Crest that grants Precision on objective-based attacks, they’re reliable and flexible. The box includes three models, one of which can be built as a Theyn.

Kapricus
A new light vehicle for the Hernkyn rangers. Comes in two builds: Defender (with heavy weapons) or Carrier (for transporting Yaegirs). Customisation is the theme here—three turret options, six heads, and another 555-decal transfer sheet.

Combat Patrol and Accessories
The new Combat Patrol: Bane-slayer’s Bulwark is a great entry point. It includes:
- Vynn Bane-slayer
- 5 Einhyr Hearthguard
- 3 Brôkhyr Thunderkyn
- 10 Hearthkyn Warriors
It’s a complete force for Combat Patrol games or a solid foundation for a full army. And if you want to round things out, there’s a set of 16 sea-green dice with the faction icon, and 26 datacards for quick reference during play.

I know my wallet’s going to feel this release. But honestly? These miniatures are just too good. The second wave of Leagues of Votann brings depth, character, and a sense of identity that’s hard to ignore. Angry space dwarves wearing the carapace of their enemies? Yes, please.
Preorders go live Saturday, 9 August, with full release on 23 August. If you’ve ever felt drawn to the Kin or just want something fresh and tactically rich, this is the moment.
