The Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K is like the Superman of gaming mice, proudly wearing the Razer badge. It’s crafted for gamers who crave top-notch precision and performance—in other words, players far better than me. I’ve teamed it up with the Razer Mouse Dock Pro, so I’ll have no strings attached, ever!
I can’t wait to explore its design, performance, customization options, battery life, and gaming capabilities. Plus, the cool perks of having the Mouse Dock Pro to go with it. I’m ready to find out if this gaming mouse will give me superpowers or be my gaming kryptonite!
Design and Build
The Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K is designed for serious gamers who demand precision and performance. This is exactly what I need when raiding in World of Warcraft, as I often get yelled at for being in the wrong place or missing my interrupt. There’s no doubt in my mind that my mouse is to blame—what else could it be? It certainly couldn’t be me.
This ergonomic mouse feels heavenly in the hand, as if it were molded to my right hand. Constructed with a matte black plastic shell and rubberized side grips, it features a dual-mode tilt wheel that adds versatility, allowing for both tactile and free-spin scrolling. I’m thankful to be right-handed because the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K only comes in a right-handed design which might be a downside for my left-handed friends. My housemate who is a leftie, and although she loves the look and feel of this mouse, she mentioned it feels a bit off when she first started to use it and mentioned she has to hold it differently compared to my old, more ambidextrous mouse.
As someone who appreciates convenience (and by convenience, I mean I’m lazy), I’m a big fan of programmable buttons, which make my life easier. While editing videos, I have these buttons set up for trimming, adjusting audio properties, and colour adjustments. It saves me so much time, and the Basilisk V3 Pro 35K doesn’t disappoint in the button area; with its 11 programmable buttons, strategically placed for easy access during intense editing or gaming sessions—though I use them more for gaming than editing.
Performance
At the heart of the Basilisk V3 Pro 35K is the new Focus Pro 35K optical sensor, which offers a staggering maximum sensitivity of 35,000 DPI. Which is beyond crazy; and this is someone that used to get paid out for having their mouse DPI set to 22k. Trying out the Basilisk V3 Pro 35K at 35,000 DPI brought back flashbacks of driving 216 kilometres an hour in a Porche on the Autobahn. Incredibly fast with only the slightest movement to correct your cursor or car. It was incredible but a little too fast for me. I’ll stick to my 22,000 DPI.
I can’t get over how amazing this sensor is, it ensures precise tracking and responsiveness, making it ideal for fast-paced gaming like FPS. Funnily, I love this sense, as legit while playing World of Warcraft recently, my clan leader said, ‘Great job, Dez, you finally suck less!’ The joke at the start of this article about blaming my tools, may actually be reality. That being said, I’m not saying the Basilisk V3 Pro 35K will make you a better gamer, but it did make me a better gamer.
This mouse also supports a maximum speed of 750 IPS and can handle up to 70 G’s of acceleration, to put that into perspective, a fighter pilot deal with 8 to 9 G force in a fighter jet. So it should be enough to ensuring it keeps up with the most demanding gameplay.
Customisation
One of the standout features of the Basilisk V3 Pro 35K is its customisable RGB lighting. The mouse boasts 13 zones of RGB lighting, including an underglow strip that creates a striking visual effect. Which is just insane in itself, and the lighting is all personalized through Razer Synapse software. Allowing gamers to match their mouse and all their Razer peripherals to their overall setup & you can go as crazy and bright as you want. Or be boring like me and just make everything purple, sorry Razer.
Battery Life
In terms of battery life, the Basilisk V3 Pro 35K does not disappoint. It offers up to 150 hours on a 2.4GHz wireless connection. As someone the works from home, writes reviews or game at night, every night & use it 12 hours a day on average, slightly less on weekends. I got a light over 2 weeks with it & then had an early night (11pm) & threw it on Razer Mouse Dock Pro. Came back in the morning & was ready again until writing this review. The Basilisk V3 Pro 35K died while editing the pictures on this review. It had been 2 weeks, so I knew it was coming but hoped I could get a few more hours out of it. Considering I could put it on the Razer Mouse Dock Pro every weekend I’d never have to charge it again & ensuring that I can play for a few weeks without needing to recharge.
The integrated battery does make the mouse a touch on the heavier side, weighing 112 grams, which might won’t matter to many people, I do prefer lighter mouse but what is 30grams between friends, especially when it offers so many more benefits and makes you… well me, a better gamer.
Razer Mouse Dock Pro
You’ve heard me already talk a lot about the Razer Mouse Dock Pro & it is the perfect companion for the Basilisk V3 Pro 35K. This dock provides a convenient wireless charging solution, ensuring that your mouse is always ready for action. The dock features RGB lighting that syncs with the mouse, creating a cohesive and visually appealing setup, or it just be boring & makes everything purple like me.
Additionally, it includes a 4,000Hz polling rate, which enhances the mouse’s performance by reducing latency and improving responsiveness.
Conclusion
Overall, the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K and Mouse Dock Pro are a powerful combination for any gaming enthusiast, or horrible WOW Raider. The mouse’s advanced sensor, ergonomic design, and customisable features make it a top choice for gamers whether serious or just a hack like me. And though I have always thought tools only make a minor difference, the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K made a noticeable difference; that just weren’t in my mind but noticed by my guild. I actually tested this by going back to my old mouse & then back to the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K. And my guild boss actually said, ‘Are you only going to get better every second time?’
Meanwhile, the Razer Mouse Dock Pro has been a godsend, as someone that normally forgets to charge their mouse until it dies then fumble for the right cord or dying mid range (only happened like 3 times now). Being able to have the freedom to just put it on the dock at night or after a session & forget it is amazing. As this dock ensures seamless charging and enhanced performance, making this perfect for any setup but a must have with Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K.
I knew the Razer Basilisk V3 Pro 35K was going to be good, as it is one of Razer’s flagship mouses. But my high expectations weren’t just met, they we exceeded. And as someone who has been lucky enough to have reviewed 100s of tech items within mt decade long hobby career, I’ve never been more impressed or blown away by a product as I have with this mouse.
