Last year, WWE 2K24 got me interested in watching WWE again after being a huge fan around the NWO era. But let’s be real, who wasn’t during the Attitude Era? My brothers are still big fans and watch religiously, but WWE 2K25 drew me back in for a completely different reason. How, you ask? Well, let me entertain you.
I decided to check out GM mode and book my own show. Weird, I know, but I figured, why not? I knew nothing about it and thought it could be interesting. I thought it would be quick and would be a different part of the game to try. I had the day off, so my butt hit the couch at 8 AM for a little GM action. But it was rudely interrupted by a phone call just before 5 PM, and I was still booking my shows, having completely lost track of time. Stephanie and I were killing it with our SmackDown shows, and I noticed the time had just floated away. I had played only one season. So, my suggestion: give it a go. It’s a well-deserved and designed side mode many will probably skip over, but I’m here to say don’t do that. Give it a try and play it.
Now, I did actually go into the rest of WWE 2K25, I swear, not just the GM part, though I have gotten back & played it several times since finishing my draft of the review.
I’ve played out some entertaining matches. It’s epic how I can team up my boy John Cena with my favourite Diva for a match that allows for a completely dynamic way of enjoying your favourite wrestlers without limitations even teaming Mankind with Dude Love. The tag team dynamics are so much fun, and the match outcomes can be quite surprising.

Graphics
I’m seeing a trend with WWE 2K25 and that is massive improvements—they show up more realistically, the movement is so clean without any tearing, and I felt I was using my PS5 for its graphics capability for the first time in a long time, but I couldn’t imagine these graphics being any better without having them in my room.
The graphics improvements are truly impressive, drawing me into the game more as I constantly found myself admiring the visuals. The character models and arenas are incredibly detailed, making each match feel like a real WWE event from the lighting effects, crowd animations, and even the sweat on the wrestlers add to the immersion and make you feel like you are there.
Yet, there is one thing that give you more excitement that anything else in wrestling & that is the entrance! That moment you don’t know who is coming out & you lose your mind as the bells of The Undertaker starts or the glass shattering of Stone Cold Steve Austin, it hypes you up. The WWE 2K25 entrances are spectacular, with each wrestler’s unique style and flair captured perfectly. The pyrotechnics, camera angles, and overall presentation make you feel like you’re watching a live WWE show. The attention to detail is remarkable, from the stitching on the costumes to the reflections on the championship belts. It’s clear that a lot of effort went into making the game visually stunning, and it pays off in creating an engaging and realistic experience.
Controls
The controls in WWE 2K25 have seen significant improvements, making the gameplay experience much more intuitive and enjoyable. The developers have clearly listened to player feedback, resulting in a control scheme that is easier to grasp and master. The responsiveness of the controls is a standout feature, allowing for smooth and fluid movements during matches. Performing special moves and finishers, like John Cena’s show-stopping special, is now more straightforward and reliable, reducing the frustration of mistimed actions. The button layout feels natural, and the game provides helpful prompts and tutorials for newcomers.

Microtransactions
I know a few people read that heading & rolled their eyes; but you know what? They are in so many games now days & they aren’t going anywhere. If you want to up your game quicker or are time poor, and are willing to pay, good for you. I played heaps and enjoyed it without spending a cent; so you don’t need to worry that you can’t do anything or will hit a ceiling where you can’t win; but can definitely see reasons to spend and improve as you go if that is your thing. The option is there for those who want it, but it’s not necessary to enjoy the game fully.
Modes and Features: Top Mentions
I’ve already touched on GM mode, and I have to say, it’s a standout feature for me. This mode offers a lot of depth and replayability, allowing you to experiment with different strategies and storylines. It’s a mode I’ve returned to multiple times, and it never gets old and is only limited by your own imagination, or craziness.
MyFaction is another mode worth mentioning. While I understand and appreciate it, the card-based gameplay isn’t my favorite. It’s somewhat similar to GM mode but with its own unique twist. If you enjoy collecting and building your ultimate team, you’ll likely find MyFaction appealing. Give both modes a try and see which one resonates with you more. As I feel if you are either going to love one or the other
Chain wrestling is a welcomed addition, in my opinion. This feature, which was present in older games, makes a return and adds a layer of strategy and realism to the matches. It helped me enjoy the game more by allowing better control over movements and making the matches more engaging.

Overall
I found WWE 2K25 to be highly enjoyable, particularly during my first playthrough. The experience was so engaging that it quickly became a staple in my gaming library, rather than just another game I would install, play a few times, and then delete. I wholeheartedly recommend giving it a try to see the numerous improvements for yourself and to immerse yourself in the WWE universe.
The game truly offers something for everyone. Whether you’re a longtime or returning fan of the WWE series or a newcomer, you’ll find plenty to appreciate. The enhancements in gameplay are noticeable, providing a smoother and more dynamic experience. The graphics have been significantly upgraded, making the visuals more realistic and immersive. Additionally, the variety of modes available ensures that there’s always something new and exciting to explore.
In summary, WWE 2K25 is a must-play for any wrestling enthusiast. Its combination of improved gameplay, stunning graphics, and diverse modes makes it a standout title that deserves a permanent spot in any gamer’s collection. So, dive in and enjoy all that the WWE universe has to offer!
