Dead Island 2 Reaches 20 Million Slayers

Media Release:

The Franchise Celebrates 14 Years Since Original Release, The Zompocalypse is Far From Over

Deep Silver and Dambuster Studios celebrate a major double milestone for the Dead Island franchise. Fourteen years after players first set foot on the blood-soaked shores of Banoi, Dead Island 2 has now drawn in over 20 million Slayers worldwide to unleash mayhem in the sun-drenched chaos of Hell-A.

14 Years of Gore and Guts

Since its blood-soaked debut in 2011, the Dead Island series has carved out a reputation for its visceral melee combat, dark humour, and unapologetically gory sandbox of zombie slaying fun. The release of Dead Island 2 in April 2023 reignited the franchise with unprecedented gore tech, brutal action, and an unforgettable Los Angeles setting, a true playground of carnage, which over 20 million Slayers across the globe have now revelled in.

This is far from the end of the Zompocalypse, though. Dambuster Studios has confirmed that the team is already hard at work on the next chapter in the Dead Island saga, keeping details tightly under wraps for now. Fans can rest assured, though, the outbreak is far from over.
